"She has been
quilting about 28 years, since 1979, when her
sister invited her to go to the Paducah quilt show.
After returning from that great experience, she
started taking classes at a nearby community
college and was hooked! For many years, she
taught quilt-related classes in shops in the
Redondo Beach area and has taught a few
classes in Grass Valley as well.
"Her favorite
part of quilting is the designing and fabric
selection…then the piecing. She loves to cut
freehand curves and piece all those curves
together. Having done a lot of hand work in the
past, she now does nearly everything by machine.
Inspiration comes from many sources—a great
fabric, a quilt [she's] seen somewhere, or just an
idea out of [her] head.""
