Something of Value(click image to see larger version)Sometimes referred to as a two-for-one quilt, the blocks were made from strip sets of 8 value gradiations. Two identical strip sets yileded one light and one dark block. There is supposedly no mattern for this technique, but I was able to obtain instructions from a woman in Georgia who teaches the 2-day class.

Beyond Jewels(click image to see larger version)I saw a picture and asked a friend to show me how to start the quilt. Lela did, and off I went, no end to it.
The quilt took me about three months to complete. I didn't have to cuet one piece of fabric for it. I had all the 1-1/2" strips cut in my basket. It took me longer to make little piles for the blockes than it did to sew them together. I gave this quilt to my niece, Carolyn. There are 9, 215 pieces!
