Reach Out to a Member Month

It’s easy to participate. Just email or call someone you’ve been thinking about even if you barely know them. Most likely, they will be at home. :-) For even more fun, take out your Membership Roster, open a page, close your eyes, pick a name, call and say, “I’m Kathy (or use your own name) from the Quilt Guild. I’m just calling to say, ‘Hi’.”

Coming Up

future Events

Upon recommendations from the CDC, WHO and Governor Newsom, there will be no Guild activities from NOW until further notice. This means no home workshop and no community service. Quilting 101 will also be cancelled.

Barbara Ceresa

I would like to start out by giving another BIG THANK YOU to the Nevada County Historical Society. They waved our rent for another 90 days starting July 1. That is 6 months of no rent for the Community Service and Guild storage facility. That is very generous of them!

I was not able to make our first ever guild meeting via Zoom. I have heard a lot of positive feedback from a number of you who did attend. People really liked the close up Show and Tell pictures and the breakout sessions. I want to thank the Zoom committee for setting this up and to Lillian Glaeser for filling in for me. Watch for more information on our next Zoom guild meeting scheduled for September 1, 2020. As we will probably not be meeting in person for the rest of the year, this meeting is a way of staying in touch with other guild members. Contact Jane Dunnington (see your Roster for her contact information) if you need assistance on how to use Zoom.

Virtual Meeting Report: Hooray for us!

The August 4th PTQG General Meeting was a successful first Zoom meeting. Two weeks in advance of meeting, the Zoom Team, Jane Dunnington, Susanne Haislet, Karle DeProsse and Holly Miner guided those who asked for help with how to use Zoom. Members submitted photographs for a virtual Show and Tell and 40 members “zoomed” in for the meeting led by VP Lillian Glaeser. The meeting officially began at 6:30pm but members could log in at 6:00pm to work out any little problems. After an official close, the meeting continued with “breakout rooms” so that small groups could continue to chat about what they were doing to cope with the interruption to normal activities. Feedback has been very positive, especially on the Show and Tell. Watch for an email that will include the link to the Guild Zoom Meeting and plan to log in between 6:00 and 6:30pm on Tuesday, September 1st.
