Skill Share (aka Home Workshop)

Home Workshop History
Home Workshop was created to give members an opportunity to gather in a guild member’s home to learn about quilting. As participation grew in popularity, the Guild moved meetings to larger venues to accommodate more members. Reflecting the evolution of this well-loved activity, the name Home Workshop was changed to Skill Share in May 2026.

We meet on the fourth Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Sierra Presbyterian Church, 175 Ridge Rd. in Nevada City. We do not meet in November or December.

Please, check our Calendar for the projects and let Theresa Finn know you will be attending so she can provide you with the supply list.

Each month we have a presenter who has volunteered to teach a skill or a project, everything from vests to pin cushions to quilts. The topics are limited only by YOUR imagination and desire. Is there a project you feel is a good one for Skill Share? Please, send your idea to Theresa Finn.

The day is free. Each class has a supplies list. You provide the machine and your favorite tools, as well as your lunch and drink. We provide irons and boards, cutting mats, a few rulers and rotary cutters and extension cords.

Drop In & Sew

People come and go as they must or bring their own projects and join the camaraderie.
The only important thing is that you come and have fun.
